Gery came to discover the job of a machine operator and he loved it
How can we raise awareness of and enhance the value of jobs in the agri-food industry in a region with full employment?
This issue is common to many companies in the sector. In Brittany, we have the lowest unemployment rate. Even during the health crisis, the region was protected by the agri-food industry. Companies in the sector continued operating at full capacity, and Brittany has a large number of employees working in this field. Production roles are therefore highly sought after when a company grows. These jobs are essential to the business, as without them, production can become disorganized and constraints can spread across the entire value chain.
Going out to meet companies to discover their professions: a concept by Gery Bertrande
To showcase our company in a different light and highlight frontline roles in the agri-food industry, we invited Gery from “Je viens bosser chez vous” — a journalist like no other, who shares his immersive experiences within companies through video. Gery came to work with Dylan Le Guen, a machine operator who has been with Soreal for the past two years.
“Impressive factory and modern equipment! Here, sauces move around like perfume bottles, and the air is filled with the scent of spices. In the workshop, Dylan can rely on his colleagues for setting up the machines, adjustments, and more. Here, teamwork is key. The agri-food industry? Dylan hadn’t considered it after his graphic design studies and a first job with no real prospects. In search of purpose, he found his path at Soreal, where he fully intends to grow in the future.”
The skills required to work at Soreal?
Be super-motivated, curious, and in a good mood.
Dylan, our ambassador, comes from a background in graphic design. Not related at all at first glance, yet he quickly developed a taste for his new job. As he says himself, he rediscovered himself! It is a hands-on job with meaning: packaging sauces intended for well-known food service clients in France and internationally.
Dylan is proud of what he produces every day, in comfortable working conditions: he does not work in the cold, there are no unpleasant smells, and the work is not too physically demanding.
The job requires good organisation, attention to detail, and a positive attitude, because what Dylan enjoys most at Soreal is the great team spirit. “Good atmosphere makes up 70% of the job,” Dylan says.
Does anyone know someone who has a sister-in-law, who herself has a brother-in-law and a cousin, and they’re looking for a job?
With the arrival of new machines in production, we are looking for machine operators (not one, not two, but more than ten positions available). We surely have a place waiting for you with us, along with good sauces in the break room.
